About Us

In Baja California, where the desert meets the Sea of Cortez and the horizon seems endless, Sal de Baja was born.

Our salt comes from the Sea of Cortez, hand-harvested by artisans in a salt pan north of the peninsula. There, the sun, wind, and ocean work in harmony to create a pure, natural salt full of character. We carefully select and process it, respecting its natural timing and origin.

Sal de Baja is a family business, created from a love of travel, discovering new territories, and transforming those encounters into experiences. We believe that every ingredient tells a story and that flavors are a way to get to know a place without being there.

Long before us, the Cochimí, one of Baja California's indigenous peoples, left cave paintings that spoke of their deep connection to the land, sea, and sky. Among their symbols appears the eagle, guide and guardian of the peninsula.

Today, those eagles still fly over Baja, from the mountains to the coasts, reminding us of that same ancestral bond with nature.

Our isotype is born from there:
from the simple lines of a cave painting,
from the figure of the eagle that has accompanied this land for centuries,
and from the desire to honor the authenticity of Baja California.

Sal de Baja is nature in its purest state, tradition reinterpreted, and a tribute to this unique land.
It's our way of bringing the true essence of Baja to your table.
